Just 21 years old, Ansu Fati has had his young football career ravaged by one serious injury after the other.

Having burst onto the scenes at Barcelona, the La Masia graduate suffered his first major injury in 2020, which put him out on the sidelines for close to a year.

The year 2021 also brought in multiple injury issues for the Spaniard which meant he hardly played during that season.

Following the plethora of fitness problems, the forward never really got back to his best and did not play much last season, which was why it was seen as apt to loan him out to Brighton & Hove Albion this past summer.

Injury strikes again

Having moved to Brighton in the summer, Fati was slowly but surely growing in stature under Roberto De Zerbi, racking up four goals in 14 games before injury struck again.

Last weekend during a Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, the Barcelona loanee had to be taken off and it has been since confirmed that the problem is again a major one.

Following extensive tests, it has been determined that Fati could be out for about three months, with the forward already back in Barcelona to continue his recovery.

The situation is certain to have come as a huge blow for Fati, who was keen on making the most of his loan spell at Brighton to force his way back into Xavi’s plans at Barcelona for next season.

As such, Ramon Salmurri on Cat Radio is reporting that the La Masia prodigy has been severely affected by his latest injury setback.

At the same time, it is being reported that Barcelona are very much concerned about the young forward’s psychological state following his newest injury.

Given how injuries have taken a toll on him this early in his career, it is only natural for Fati to be affected and for the Catalans to be worried about the situation.

But, the youngster has demonstrated great mental fortitude to come back stronger from such situations in the past and must do so once again, with the help of the club, who continue to trust him as an option for the future.
