Barça boss Xavi named a relatively strong side for the trip to Andalusia featuring the likes of Dani Alves and Sergio Busquets.

But it was the hosts who took an unexpected lead when Hugo Díaz headed home brilliantly past Neto to open the scoring midway through the first half.

Gerard Piqué came on as a substitute for the Blaugrana at half-time, as did Ousmane Dembélé despite the uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

And it was Dembélé who equalised with a curling effort from distance which slipped through the goalkeeper’s grasp just after the hour mark.

Linares then thought they’d gone back in front when Neto made a mess of a weak header at him, but luckily for him and Barça, the flag went up for offside.

Moments later, the visitors went 2-1 up at the other end when Ferran Jutglà finished brilliantly into the far corner after a superb run in off the left flank for what proved to be the winning goal.
