Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman admits he's enjoyed working with Lionel Messi this season.

Despite his contract winding down, Koeman has never doubted Messi's commitment.

He told Voetbal International: "We talked about the club, the team and the changes we wanted to make. Messi agreed from the start. I never had a moment when I thought he wanted something else.

"It's great for the club and for the team and for me as a coach. Because you can see in everything that Messi is still the best. He proves it every time.

"The players see how important he is to the club, they see his incredible qualities in training, his class and the unlikely things that he does."
