Up next for FC Barcelona is a massive test that awaits them at the Signal Iduna Park. Against Borussia Dortmund, the Catalan giants are set to play in their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture. However, especially for Barcelona, a win would be a rather significant achievement that means more than just three points.

That is because the Catalan giants have looked rather vulnerable in recent outings. Dropping points unnecessarily and putting their league position under jeopardy, Barcelona have needed a reality check and now is the time to prove that they are still a capable outfit.

Moreover, Hansi Flick’s side is fortunate enough to have also recovered one of their key injured players ahead of the clash in Germany. Ronald Araujo, a club captain and one of their best defenders, has been included in the final squad list and has even travelled to Germany with the rest of the team.

Ahead of the match, however, Hansi Flick spoke about various topics and did not forget to speak about Araujo. Beyond just the matter of his fitness and availability, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the coach also made sure to speak in detail about what exactly the player brings to the team:

“It’s great to have him here already; he’s very strong, motivates his teammates, and even the coach with his winning attitude. We’ll see how tomorrow’s match unfolds. The plan is for him to play, but I can’t say if it will be tomorrow or over the weekend.”

While the chances of Araujo featuring against Dortmund are not exactly clear, the matter that is clear is the fact that the player is influential beyond just the pitch itself. With Hansi Flick even claiming that he has a ‘winning attitude’, it becomes clear to see the kind of persona that the Uruguayan defender possesses.

Moreover, beyond just the players, Flick has also admitted that the defender is a great motivator for the coach as well. Such a player is essential for any top team, and the German coach likely cannot wait until he has the Uruguayan star back on the pitch for his team as well.
