Barcelona chief Mateu Alemany is in Morocco today to meet with agents of Ousmane Dembele.

Barcelona had been adamant that Dembele had to make the first move after he rejected all contract extension offers in January, but the form the Frenchman has shown has made him an altogether more valued asset.

Los Cules are believed to have thought over the situation and have decided to reach out to Dembele's agent one more time, with CEO Mateu Alemany set to represent the Catalan club in the Morocco talks.

The Camp Nou fans gave the 24-year-old a standing ovation when he was substituted off against Sevilla, which is a rare occurrence in the five years he has been at Barcelona.

The supporters want Dembele to stay at the club and president Joan Laporta has listened to them, whilst Xavi Hernandez has also been incredibly impressed by the work ethic he has shown in recent months.

"He looks very happy and very involved," Xavi declared in his post-match press conference.

"For the way I want to play, he is good."

"If he adapts to our terms, he could stay with us," explained Alemany as he arrived in Morocco.

Barcelona don't plan to move from their strict economic parameters for any player, yet the board have made the decision to at least try to persuade Dembele to stay amidst pressure from fans.
