With the upcoming summer transfer window just around the corner, many clubs across Europe have already started planning for the season ahead.
Barcelona are no exception, although it appears the club are facing pressure to sell some of their first-team stars, in order to make way for new signings.
To that end, the future of Ronald Araujo has been in focus, especially on the back of recent criticism over his performances.
A recent report from MARCA has offered an interesting perspective on Ronald Araujo’s future and how it could be impacted by Jonathan Tah.
The Bayer Leverkusen star is available in the market as a free agent, with Barcelona emerging as one of the potential destinations.
This does not bode well for Araujo, who has already fallen behind Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi in the pecking order.

Araujo understands that he won’t be a regular under Hansi Flick next season. And with Barça have the option to sign Tah, his place in the team could dwindle further.
Therefore, the Uruguayan international must make a final decision on his future. He was notably linked with an exit in the January transfer window, but unexpectedly signed a contract extension until 2031.
However, that contract agreement had an exit plan, which lowered the release clause from €1 billion to just €70 million, a value that would be applicable only for the first ten days of July.
This exit plan could come into the picture should Araujo decide to leave Barcelona this summer for pastures new.
It must be noted that Barcelona would be happy to offload a star player in the team this summer, knowing it could be integral in helping them get back to the 1:1 rule. Ronald Araujo, to that end, makes for an enticing candidate.
