Barcelona boss Xavi confirms Vitor Roque plan for Cádiz | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Xavi has on Friday confirmed his intention to make use of the talents of a seldom seen member of his squad this weekend.

The player in question? Vitor Roque.

Frontman Roque, of course, has endured a difficult go of things, since linking up with Barcelona from his home country of Brazil during the January transfer window.

Since the Blaugrana’s return from the international break, for example, the frontman has been afforded just nine minutes of action, failing to even get off the bench at the Parc des Princes in midweek.

With heavy rotation expected in Barca’s XI to face Cádiz on Saturday, ahead of the club’s Champions League quarter-final return leg meeting with Paris Saint-Germain three days later, the subject of Roque’s potential involvement was in turn put to boss Xavi this afternoon.

And the Spaniard’s ensuing response will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of Blaugrana supporters the world over.

This comes with Xavi having confirmed that the plan is indeed for his young striker to feature, potentially by way of a prominent role:

“We prepared a video showing his movements in the spaces for tomorrow. He offers us a lot and he will definitely get minutes to play. We have to take advantage and try to help him understand positional play.”
