Serie A giants Inter Milan could yet see their hopes of besting Barcelona next week boosted by the presence of a surprise figure.
The player in question? Lautaro Martínez.
Frontman Lautaro for his part set alarm bells sounding at Inter Milan earlier this week.
As much came upon the Argentine limping out of the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semi-final first-leg clash with the aforementioned Barcelona.
Diagnosed with a thigh injury, Lautaro, in turn, was considered as all but ruled out of next Tuesday’s return leg at San Siro.
If the latest word stemming from the Italian media this weekend is anything to go by, though, then his absence may not yet be set in stone.
As per a report from Sport Italia journalist Tancredi Palmeri (cited by Diario Sport), Lautaro could be in line for what is described as a ‘miracle’ recovery, in time to face Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana.
The 27-year-old is said to be recovering quickly from his thigh concern, therefore potentially even a candidate to start in Milan in three days’ time.
