Barcelona will take on bitter rivals Real Madrid in an exciting Copa del Rey final after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday, sealing a 5-4 aggregate victory.

After a thrilling 4-4 draw in the first leg at home, it was Ferran Torres’ strike in the 27th minute that made the difference.

The former Man City forward scored from inside the box, converting a pass from Lamine Yamal with a neat low shot past Atletico’s keeper Juan Musso.

Atletico pressed for an equaliser in the second half, but Barca held firm to claim a slender victory and secure their spot in the final in Seville later this month.

Real Madrid also progressed after a dramatic 5-4 aggregate win over Real Sociedad in extra time on Tuesday.

The two fierce rivals will meet in the Copa del Rey final for the first time since the 2013-14 season, when Madrid came out on top.
