Barcelona will go into the transfer market in the summer to reinforce their attacking unit, with a left-winger said to be at the top of their wishlist.

At the same time, the Blaugrana are also keeping an eye on the centre-forward market given that Robert Lewandowski will be 37 years old by the time the new season kicks off.

Alexander Isak of Newcastle United is the utmost priority when it comes to the No. 9 position, but the Blaugrana expect several hurdles in the pursuit of the Swede.

Viktor Gyokeres an alternative but unlikely to arrive

Mundo Deportivo reports that Isak’s compatriot, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP, is also on Barcelona’s wishlist as an alternative for the centre-forward position.

However, a move for the 26-year-old striker is seen as unlikely, as he seems ‘destined’ to join his former mentor, Ruben Amorim, at Manchester United.

Gyokeres flourished at Sporting under the tutelage of Amorim before the Portuguese tactician made the switch to Manchester United earlier this season to take over the reins from Erik ten Hag.

Ever since Amorim took over as manager at Old Trafford, rumours of Gyokeres following him to the Premier League have been doing the rounds.

And, as per the aforementioned report, it seems that the Swedish striker could very likely end up signing for the Red Devils, who are in desperate need of an established goalscorer with the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee not meeting expectations.

As such, the chances of Gyokeres arriving at Barcelona in the summer transfer window this year appear slim.
