In a fresh development reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona winger Jan Virgili is being closely monitored by several Spanish clubs, including RCD Mallorca.

The La Liga club is eager to continue their trend of recruiting promising talent from Barça, having already secured the services of Pablo Torre earlier this summer in a deal worth €5 million, plus a percentage of any future capital gain.

Now, their sights are set on Virgili, one of the standout performers from Barcelona’s youth ranks. The winger joined the Catalan giants just last year from Gimnastic de Tarragona and has quickly made a name for himself within the club’s youth structure.

Last season, he made 33 appearances for the Juvenil A side, finding the back of the net seven times and assisting on three occasions.

He also featured in 17 matches for Barça Atletic, scoring four goals and quickly establishing himself as the starting right winger.

Future extremely uncertain

Despite his rise and evident potential, Virgili’s future at Barcelona appears to be uncertain under Hansi Flick.

The German manager invited Virgili to begin pre-season training with the senior squad, a gesture that initially indicated trust in his talent.

However, as pre-season unfolded, Flick chose to give more continuity to other young players. As a result, Virgili was sent back to train with Barça Atletic, casting doubt over his role in Flick’s immediate plans.

Even though his senior chances remain slim for now, Virgili’s outstanding display in the U-19 European Championship with the Spanish national team further raised his stock.

His performances at the international level have only increased interest in the talented winger, who is now reportedly being tracked by at least five clubs, including four La Liga sides alongside Mallorca.

As such, they seem intent on building a young and dynamic squad and view Virgili as a potential gem who could develop further with regular first-team football.
