The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are giving priority to the registration of Joan García over Marcus Rashford for their season opener.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Barcelona, of course, are primed to kick the defence of the club’s Spanish top-flight crown into gear this coming weekend.
An opening day meeting with RCD Mallorca lies in wait on Saturday, at Son Moix.
Just days out from the fixture, the Blaugrana are yet to register any of their three summer signings with La Liga.
This means that, as things stand, all of Joan García, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji are ineligible to feature against Mallorca.
Deco and co, in turn, will spend the coming days working hard towards fixing this situation.
As alluded to above, though, amid these efforts, one player is set to be prioritised above his new teammates.
As per MD:
‘The club hopes to sign Joan García with optimism and a dose of suspense. Rashford was the center forward at the Gamper Stadium (vs Como), but his registration is less of a priority than Joan García’s, so he may not be available.’
