Barcelona have confirmed their final squad numbers for the season, with 12 changes taking place.
In fact, of the players in last season’s squad, only Marc-André ter Stegen, Ronald Araújo, Pedri, Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong and Jules Koundé remain unchanged.
Deadline day arrival João Cancelo has opted for the No. 2, while Sergio Busquets’ legendary No. 5 has been taken on by Ińigo Martínez, with Oriol Romeu also stepping into big shoes by taking Jordi Alba’s No. 18 and Alejandro Balde now occupying the No. 3 previously worn by Gerard Piqué for 15 years.
João Félix has picked No. 14, with Ilkay Gündoğan going for the 22 jersey.
Ferran Torres has switched to No. 7, leaving Raphinha to take the No.11, while Gavi will wear the No. 6.
Ansu Fati’s departure means that for the first time in 28 years, nobody will wear the iconic No. 10 jersey which was famously worn by club legends such as Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.
