Barcelona announce new knee issue for Ansu Fati | OneFootball

Ansu Fati has been ruled out of Barcelona’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night with a knee injury.

Although the forward limped off towards the end of Sunday’s Clásico loss after a collision with Jordi Alba, coach Ronald Koeman insisted afterwards that there wasn’t any great cause for concern.

In fact, Fati was even named in Barcelona’s matchday squad for the game early on Wednesday morning.

But the club have now announced that he will play no part due to feeling pain in his right knee and did not put a timeline on his return to action.

It is an extremely worrying situation given that the teenager spent almost a year out of action with knee problems and underwent several surgeries in a bid to correct it.

However, that was required on the meniscus on his left knee as opposed to the latest issue with his right.
