In the case of Pique, he extends his contract until June of 2024 and his release clause is set at 500 million euros. His contract will be based on the hitting a certain number of appearances from the 2021/22 season onwards. If Pique sees out the entire contract, he'll be 37.

Ter Stegen's extension has been close for some time and his new contract also comes with a release clause of 500m euros, while the end date is June of 2025.

Then, Lenglet and De Jong have both committed until 2026. In the case of Lenglet, he does so with a release clause of 300m euros, while De Jong's buy-out clause is 400m euros.

"These agreements have been reached following weeks of negotiations and include a temporary salary adjustment due to the current circumstances brought about the COVID-19 induced crisis," a Barcelona statement said as the club announced the news within an hour of the full time whistle blowing to confirm their 5-1 victory over Ferencvaros.
