Watford have submitted a bid for one of France’s most promising young wingers but Barcelona may keen to beat them to the punch.
According to L’Equipe, the Hornets have made a €2.5m offer to Ligue 2 side Chateauroux for 17-year-old Haissem Hassan.
Hassan has scored two goals in seven appearances with the France U-17s and made his professional debut with the Ligue 2 outfit last October.
After making four appearances last season, Hassan came off the bench in his side’s opening match of the season and started last Friday’s 0-0 draw against Rodez.
Barcelona are currently monitoring the teenager and RMC report that Hassan wants to hold out until the Blaugrana submit a bid of their own.
It’s believed that if Hassan signs with Barcelona, he will be sent to play with the Juvenil A squad under Victor Valdes.
