Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Dutchman is attracting the attention of several European clubs after impressive performances this season and could be on the move in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United reportedly want Frimpong but they face competition from two major European rivals.
Barca and Bayerm are looking to strengthen their right-back options and Frimpong is on their radar.
The Catalan giants have used centre-backs Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo at right-back this season. Midfielder has also played Sergi Roberto.
They sent Sergino Dest out on loan to AC Milan, where he has failed to impress. Barcelona will look to sell the American international and bring in a fresh face.
However, they will struggle to raise the funds to sign Frimpong due to their financial situation.
Bayern are also showing interest in Frimpong. They know him well from the Bundesliga and love signing rival players.
The Bavarians need another right-back as they plan to return Joao Cancelo to Manchester City at the end of the season.
Bayern will turn to a player that already knows the league.
Frimpong is an attacking full-back and one of the most exciting talents in that position. Together with Moussa Diaby, they form a dreaded tandem on the right flank.
He has bagged eight goals and six assists in 26 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
The Manchester City academy graduate can be susceptible defensively, but he is still a solid if unspectacular defender.
It is unclear how much Leverkusen will ask for Frimpong, but it will likely be north of €35 million.
