With only a few weeks left in this 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona are already making their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

One of the positions that the Catalans are expected to try to reinforce in this window is that of the fullback, and the Blaugranes have already been linked with several players for this purpose.

Three La Liga clubs pursuing Pedro Porro

In this context, Fichajes reports that FC Barcelona are one of the three teams from La Liga, along with Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, interested in the signing of the Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro, whose departure the London club is willing to undertake.

Spurs are looking to obtain a significant fee for the defender, and several teams have shown their interest in him. Furthermore, they are also looking to reorganise their squad and provide greater prominence to Djed Spence in the right-back position.

Since arriving at the Premier League side in 2023, he has been a permanent part of the team’s starting lineups. His performances have been up to the mark, but Tottenham are now looking to make a profit on him, especially since his former club, Manchester City, is also considering a potential return for him.

The defender would not come cheap

Despite Spurs’ willingness to part ways with him, he will not come cheap for Barcelona or any other interested club. He has a contract till 2028 with the London side, which is demanding a fee of more than €50 million for his sale.

Barcelona are currently considering bringing him as a rotation piece for Jules Kounde, who is currently out with an injury, and his two-way presence makes him an attractive option for the Blaugranes.

Atletico Madrid see Pedro Porro as an ideal replacement if Nahuel Molina ends up leaving, while Villarreal are looking at him to strengthen their squad if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League. However, the Yellow Submarines will get him only on a loan with an obligatory buy option.
