Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to reports in the Netherlands.

De Jong has been linked with a move to a number of top European clubs but it now seems almost certain that he will be heading to Barça in the summer.

Last week, Catalan outlet Sport reported that the 21-year-old informed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola that he has decided against a move to the Premier League, and now Dutch website Fotbollskanalen claim the Netherlands international has agreed join the Blaugrana on a five-year deal.

The LaLiga giants could complete a deal for De Jong in January and loan him back to Ajax for the rest of the season, or they could wait to finalise the move in the summer.

However, it seems the two clubs are still some way off agreeing a transfer fee.

Fotbollskanalen claim Barcelona are currently offering €60m, but Ajax are holding out for a fee closer to €75m.
