In addition to taking care of player departures and arrivals in the upcoming summer transfer window, another important task on the hands of the FC Barcelona Sporting Department in the coming weeks and months will be the contract renewals of some of its players.

This is true not only for some established starters in the team, like Ronald Araujo, but also for some of the youngsters who are in line to get important roles in the squad in the coming years.

In this regard, the club has already tied up Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, and is already working on ensuring the continuity of some other highly promising talents.

In this regard, SPORT reports that another piece of good news is awaiting the Barcelona fans, as the Catalans have already reached an agreement with the fullback, Hector Fort, to renew his contract till 2029.

The report claims that everything is already agreed upon between the two parties, and only the final signature from the player is missing, which is expected to come in the next few days.

With this new contract that goes till 2029, Barcelona have practically ensured the long-term continuity of a highly promising fullback. Fort is going to turn 18 years of age in August, and this new contract will come into force when the player reaches this personal milestone.

With this renewal, there will be a significant increase in both the salary and the release clause of the defender. His current release clause of only €6 million has been a source of concern for Barcelona, as it has attracted several offers from around Europe in recent months.

At 17 years of age, Hector Fort has been highly impressive whenever he has got the chance to play with the first team. Only in the game against Almeria, he made himself prominent with an assist for one of Fermin Lopez’s goals.

Barcelona are ecstatic with how the youngster is developing, and have already planned to have him in the first team next season, as a deputy of Alejandro Balde.

Thus, this renewal can be announced by the club within this week. However, all the uncertainty surrounding Barcelona regarding the managerial position can force the club to postpone this announcement.
