As has already been reported, FC Barcelona intend to sign a top-level striker in the near future and have identified several possible options for the role.
Even though Robert Lewandowski has scored 26 goals this season, the veteran will be 37 years old next season and as such, the Blaugrana intend to have a top alternative ready to take over from the Pole.
Names like Viktor Gyokeres and Erling Haaland have been touted as the most preferred options for Barcelona.
More recently, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak was also said to be a player that the Catalan giants greatly admire. Now, it appears that another name has been added to the list.
Indeed, according to SER, RB Leipzig and Slovenia centre-forward Benjamin Sesko is also on the list of strikers that Barcelona like as options to strengthen their attack.

Sesko, 21, has been a top performer for the Bundesliga club since joining them in 2023, bagging 30 goals from 66 appearances with 12 of those strikes coming this season.
The Slovenian international is a physical presence at the top while also boasting a fiery pace and has proven to be a prolific goalscorer in his burgeoning career while being adept at link-up play.
At 21, Sesko has a very bright future ahead of him in the game and has a number of top clubs tailing him, with Barcelona also now joining the hunt.
The young forward, however, has a contract with RB Leipzig until the summer of 2029 and the Bundesliga giants have proven themselves to be tough negotiators.
Barcelona did strike a favourable deal with Leipzig last summer for the signing of Dani Olmo and it will be interesting to see if they knock on the German club’s doors again this summer.
