It has been a difficult start to the season for Andreas Christensen at FC Barcelona as he suffered an injury very early in the campaign and has been sidelined potentially until the turn of the year.
The Danish defender’s injury allowed Barça to register summer signing Dani Olmo until the turn of the year.
Following that, however, reports emerged claiming that Christensen and his camp were not entirely pleased about the club’s manoeuvre.
The Blaugrana were quick to provide reassurances to the former Chelsea man that they would be in a position to re-register him as soon as he would return from injury.
Amidst all this, SPORT has shed light on Barcelona’s stance on Christensen’s future and the defender’s own plans for what lies ahead.
As per the report, Barça have been in contact with the 28-year-old over a new contract, with his current one expiring in the summer of 2026.
It is further claimed that the Danish international has offers from the Premier League but his objective is to stay put at Barcelona.

While Christensen has had some niggling fitness issues throughout his stint at Barça, he has been more than reliable every time he has been available.
Be it at centre-back or even in midfield last season, the former Chelsea star has stepped up for the Catalans and it does not come as a surprise to see him wanting to continue at the club, even though there is stiff competition for places.
Barcelona, for now, have not made any decisions regarding the Dane’s future and would consider putting him on the market if a renewal is not agreed.
For now, however, Christensen is not planning on considering the offers from the Premier League, with his objective being to continue as a Blaugrana.
