The two other Champions League quarter-finals were played Wednesday evening with dramatic ties in both Paris and Madrid. Here is what went down around the grounds.
Scorers: DembĂ©lĂ© 49âČ, Vitinha 50âČ ; Raphinha 37âČ, 62âČ, Christensen 77âČ
Barcelona will take a slender advantage back to Spain for the second-leg after winning a thriller in Paris.
It was PSGâs ball in the early going, keeping control of the possession and looking for an opening in the Barça backline.
Barça rode their luck in the opening 15 minutes as they tried to find their feet â Xavi will surely have been preaching calm from his spot on the touchline.
Xaviâs men did start to find their feet however, producing a lightning counter-attack that was rounded off by a Raphinha shot deflecting just wide.
Only moments later, Robert Lewandowski saw his header narrowly cleared off the line.
Their luck would finally break in the final 10 minutes of the half though, as Raphinha pounced on a deflected save before stabbing home the opener to silence the home crowd.
The hosts responded perfectly just after the second-half got underway however, as Ousmane Dembélé came back to bite his former team, lashing a shot into the roof of the net to reclaim parity in the tie.
Only 90 seconds later, Vitinha fired PSG into the lead to stun the visitors and set the home crowd alight.
The visitors responded in kind once again, playing in Raphinha for the Brazilian to bag his second of the night to pull the away side level.
The drama would not stop there however, as Andreas Christensen headed home from a corner with one of his first touches since being subbed on to snatch the lead once again for the visitors.
Scorers: De Paul 4âČ, Lino 32âČ ; Haller 81âČ
A late Dortmund goal saw the Bundesliga outfit take a one-goal deficit back to Germany after narrowly losing to Atlético de Madrid.
The first chance fell to Ălvaro Morata down the right-flank, but the striker was unable to get a shot of way after getting the ball trapped in his feet.
Disaster struck in the opening 10 minutes for Dortmund however, as a bad giveaway at the back allowed Rodrigo De Paul in to open the scoring.
Dortmund dominated the ball in the subsequent minutes, but struggled to find any sort of opening to level the scoreline away from home.
The visitors were punished for yet another giveaway at the back past the half-hour mark however, this time capped off by a slick finish from Samuel Lino after he was picked out by Antoine Griezmann.
It was vintage Atleti after the restart, slowing the game down to a crawl and allowing Borussia Dortmund to pass the ball around in a circle.
The German club finally found the goal they desired however, silencing the home crowd in the dying minutes thanks to a SĂ©bastien Haller strike to cut the home sideâs lead.
A Julian Brandt header rang the crossbar in the dying seconds, almost stunning the home side.
