Reigning champions Barcelona booked their spot in the Women's Champions League final after completing the job against Chelsea.
It was always going to be a herculean task for Sonia Bompastor's side to get back into the tie after a chastening time in Catalonia.
However, the writing was on the wall early on when Aitana Bonmatí struck in the 25th minute to make it 5-1 on aggregate.
But Barça weren't done there and in the space of a few minutes before half-time. First, Ewa Pajor tapped home from Caroline Graham Hansen's low cross. Then just seconds later Clàudia Pina sent in a superb curling effort that Hannah Hampton had no chance of stopping.
From that point on at 7-1 on aggregate the tie effectively ended as a contest. The visitors weren't done yet as Salma Paralluelo made it 8-1 as she made the most of some poor defending.
Chelsea did at least pull one back from substitute Wieke Kaptein but the gulf in quality will be a concern for Blues' supporters as they once again crash out in their pursuit of the Champions League. Even with signing former Barça stars like Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh, the difference is there for all to see.
