Reds midfielder James Milner is very much a squad player for Liverpool these days.

To back up that particular comment, Milner has made three Premier League appearances this season, but he has come off the bench in all three fixtures.

However, Milner started for Liverpool against Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA last night.

As you can see below, some Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to state that they were not impressed with the performance of the midfielder.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We actually thought Milner played reasonably well against Ajax in the Champions League last night. The midfielder was decent in defence and attack.

To back up that particular argument, Milner made six tackles and completed 49 passes. Milner also ran 12.63 kilometers against Ajax.

With that being the case, he ran further than anyone else on the pitch. Milner finished the match with a player rating of 7.54.

Milner might be 34 years of age, but the aforementioned numbers highlight that he can still perform at the top level.
