Mario Balotelli hit back after the video of him seemingly rolling around drunk in the street went viral. ‘After Italy play like that… What am I being judged for?’

The video was shared widely on social media showing SuperMario wobbling in the street, falling down and giggling before his friend managed to get him back on his feet.

He responded with a video of his own, published on Instagram Stories, where he was leaning back on a chair and talking directly to the camera.

“I wanted to tell you that I saw the video where I fall down with my friends, we roll around, joke, run. I don’t see the problem with having a night out with friends, having fun and joking around, without hurting anyone.

“What am I being judged for? Why didn’t you show all the photographs and videos I made with people? I was open to everyone.

“Instead, after Italy play like that, the news that goes around is that I’m drunk… Come on, let’s think about important things.”

What next for Balotelli?

Balotelli is a free agent after his contract with Adana Demirspor expired and is considering his next career move.

He turns 34 in August and seems to have no intention of hanging up his boots just yet, even leading to the suggestion from some that he could still be of use to the current Italy side.

The former Milan, Inter, Manchester City and Liverpool striker scored seven goals in 16 Super Lig appearances for Adana Demirspor this season, but was out from November 2023 to February 2024 following knee surgery.

He then received a ban for a red card during the 6-1 defeat to Gaziantep.
