Speaking at a public appearance earlier today, FC Barcelona midfielder and one of the captains, Pedri, discussed his and the team’s season so far while also touching upon some of his teammates and the fixture schedule.
Pedri, without a doubt, is one of the best midfielders in the game currently and is proving that with stunning performances game after game.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the driving forces behind Barcelona’s chase for a historic treble under Hansi Flick this season.
At the same time, the youngster is also being touted as a strong contender to win the Ballon d’Or this year if the Catalans go on to win trophies.
When asked if he would prefer winning the Ballon d’Or or the treble with the Blaugrana, Pedri was clear about his priorities.
“I would rather win the treble than the Ballon d’Or. If the Ballon d’Or comes, I want it to come alongside collective titles. Being nominated is a dream, but winning all the trophies is more important to me,” he said.
When asked about the prospect of winning the treble, Pedri remained cautious, saying:
There are still many games left. We are entering the decisive period where losing three games could knock you out. These are the best matches – the ones you want to play – and why not dream of the treble?”

Regarding his personal situation, Pedri expressed satisfaction, saying: “This is one of the moments I am enjoying the most. I feel confident, and my teammates make it easy for me. Now it is about continuing to enjoy and winning.”
Pedri also remarked that he prefers to keep playing continuously rather than being rested, as he said:
“People say I play a lot, never rotate… but it’s way better for me. I like to play, I want to play. I suffer more when I’m not playing as my body is not used to it, so it’s more difficult to recover.”
Pedri also spoke about the packed fixture schedule as well as the upcoming match against Osasuna on Thursday.
“The only thing left is to recover and play on Thursday. The joy from yesterday’s match with the national team helps with recovery,” he said.
He also acknowledged the physical toll of the packed schedule, stating: “It is difficult to recover in less than 72 hours. The calendar is tight, and it affects the intensity of the game, but you have to accept it and do your best.”
