As previously reported, Jules Koundé extended his contract with Barça this Thursday. The French defender is now tied to the Spanish club until June 2030. Speaking after putting pen to paper, the full-back of Beninese descent didn't just express his delight—he was also asked about the Ballon d'Or race.

For Jules Koundé, the choice is already clear. "Lamine Yamal deserves the 2025 Ballon d'Or," he declared to the Catalan club's journalists. The winner of the Ballon d'Or will be announced on September 22.
