Zambia head coach Avram Grant sees only Achraf Hakimi as this year's Ballon d'Or winner.

Since the CHAN, Zambia's coach Avram Grant has been asked to weigh in on Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan is a nominee for the 2025 Ballon d'Or. For Grant, it's the Parisian full-back who deserves to lift the trophy on September 22.

"Achraf Hakimi is a fantastic player, an incredible player in my eyes. He is a right-back, but not only that, he plays everywhere. (...) I think he deserves more recognition for what he has achieved at PSG and of course with the national team. He was one of the key factors in PSG's Champions League victory. Against Liverpool (in the round of 16), in the semi-finals, in the final... (...) In all of PSG's big matches, he was outstanding. He is one of the favorites for the Ballon d'Or." the coach said.

Still speaking about Hakimi, Avram Grant took a jab at Real Madrid, the Moroccan's formative club: "But he (Hakimi) can also be proud of what he has accomplished, being the best right-back in the world. I'm sure Real Madrid regrets letting him go."

Trained at Real Madrid, Hakimi was loaned to Dortmund in 2018 and then sold permanently to Inter Milan two years later.
