Weâve held an election at OneFootball HQ and weâre about to update you on the results on a daily basis.
For the fourth year running, we have figured out and ranked our top 25 players in world football and weâre about to reveal you to them one by one.
Hereâs how it works.
Everyone on the English language team here at OneFootball has ranked their top 30 players in the world right now.
On each personâs ranking, we assigned 30 points to the player ranked 1st, 29 to the player ranked 2nd and so on, all the way down to a single point for the player ranked 30th.
And then we multiplied the number of points accumulated by each player by the number of votes they received.
This is so a player cannot sneak in just because one or two of us rate them very highly, or a player we all rate well but not at the very top gets recognition for all of us choosing them a little further down the list.
And then we are left with total points and an overall ranking. Starting 20 June, with the player in 25th, we will reveal a player each day with a profile piece.
