As work continues on the incoming transfer market, Roma is also tasked with trimming down its squad.
Gian Piero Gasperini will soon have to make important decisions regarding his departure, both for technical and financial reasons.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, the first name ready to leave is Saud Abdulhamid, now set to move to Toulouse on loan.
The deal is in the final stages of completion and could be finalized in the next few days.
The Saudi defender, rarely used so far, is seeking consistency, and the French club is ready to guarantee him playing time.
Marash Kumbulla, coming off a positive season with Espanyol, is awaiting a new position. Roma has yet to receive any concrete offers, but the Albanian center-back could leave if the right offer is made, given the increased competition in the defensive line.
The situation is more complex for Mario Hermoso, whose €4 million net per season salary puts a damper on any potential negotiations.
The Spanish defender, who arrived on a free transfer, has yet to find a place for himself and remains unsure: the club will have to decide whether to accept a lower-priced transfer or keep the player available.
Competition in attack is intensifying. The arrival of new players risks reducing the playing time for Stephan El Shaarawy and Tommaso Baldanzi.
