Aston Villa locked horns with West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a win on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 29th minute when Michail Antonio found the back of the net. Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Nicolo Zaniolo came off the bench and equalised for the West Midlands club in the 79th minute. Aston Villa ended up settling for a hard-fought 1-1 draw away from home.

Martinez made a few solid saves at the back and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.

He cleared his lines when required and made one decent chance going forward.

Lenglet did his fair share of defending but failed to keep a clean sheet in the first half. He was replaced at half-time.

He made a few crucial clearances on the defensive end of the field.

LB: Alex Moreno – 6/10
The Spaniard tried his best to keep things tidy defensively and made one good run with the ball.
RW: Leon Bailey – 7/10
Bailey completed a few dangerous dribbles on the right flank but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
CM: Youri Tielemans – 6.5/10
He was not shy of a tackle and had some lively moments in the final third.
CM: Douglas Luiz – 6.5/10
Luiz made a few solid tackles at the centre of the park and was good on the ball.
LM: Matty Rogers – 6.5/10
He made two impressive runs with the ball but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.
ST: Jhon Duran – 6/10
He failed to impress in the first half and got substituted at half-time.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 6.5/10
Watkins worked hard in the West Ham but failed to register a goal today.

He engineered a few meaningful chances for his teammates and picked up an assist for setting up Zaniolo’s equaliser.

Cash made two driving runs with the ball.
