Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is suffering from a knee ligament injury, the club has confirmed.
Kroos played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday evening’s 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League but a statement released via Los Blancos official website on Friday revealed that the German international sustained an injury during the Bernabéu encounter.
“Following tests carried out on Toni Kroos by the Sanitas Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprained to the exterior lateral ligament in the left knee,” read the statement.
“His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
It is not yet known how long the 28-year-old will be out for but it seems likely he will miss this Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Real Betis at least.
