AZ Alkmaar have loaned Mayckel Lahdo to FC Nantes in Ligue 1. The 22-year-old winger fell out of favour in Alkmaar and now finds a playing opportunity in France. A purchase option has reportedly also been included as part of the deal.
AZ acquired Lahdo from Swedish side Hammarby IF for €600,000 back in the summer of 2022. Since then, he’s played 98 matches for the first team, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists.
Last term he played a solid role, totting up 35 appearances. This summer, however, manager Maarten Martens announced that he’s no longer in his plans.
Lahdo had reportedly been training separately from the squad for a while. Nantes have now taken him on loan.
Lahdo is also a six-cap international for the Swedish U21s. He has a contract with AZ until the summer of 2027. He joins a Nantes outfit that finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season.
