According to De Telegraaf, AZ Alkmaar are set to complete the signing of Ibrahim Sadiq from BK Häcken. The 23-year-old right-winger is currently in Alkmaar undergoing medical tests. The Eredivisie side will pay approximately €4m for the former Ghana youth international.
Ibrahim Sadiq currently plays his football in the Swedish top flight for BK Häcken, having joined from FC Nordsjaelland last year. Over the previous two seasons, the winger has scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances. Already, during the new campaign, Sadiq has shown his quality. He’s scored six goals and provided two assists in seven European qualification matches. Incredible numbers from the 2000-born talent.
Last week, Sadiq scored from the penalty spot in Häcken’s 2-2 Europa League qualifier with Aberdeen. After completing his AZ medical today, Sadiq will return to Sweden ahead of Häcken’s second-leg clash with the Scottish side. The transfer to AZ Alkmaar is expected to be finalised by this Friday.
Sadiq will become the sixth summer signing at AZ. Already, Pascal Jansen’s side have brought in the likes of Ruben van Bommmel, Tiago Dantas, David Möller Wolfe, Denso Kasius and Alexandre Penetra. There’s enormous pressure on these players to impress, seeing AZ have sold some big names like Tijjani Reijnders, Milos Kerkez, Jesper Karlsson and Sam Beukema. Last season the club finished fourth in the Eredivisie. They’ve already kicked off the new campaign in style, having won two out of two league games. The signing of Ibrahim Sadiq will provide AZ with an extra, high-quality attacking option.
