AZ Alkmaar find Ruben van Bommel successor in Denmark

AZ Alkmaar have found a successor to Ruben van Bommel in Denmark as 21-year-old Isak Jensen joins from Viborg FF for an undisclosed fee.

A gifted winger that can play on either flank, Jensen is a youth international for Denmark and played against the Dutch U21 team at the recent European Under-21 Championship. Last season, he scored nine goals and provided two assists in the Danish league.

His speciality seemingly comes from dead-ball scenarios. Last season, he scored three times from free-kicks, with only four attempts.

AZ’s Director of Football Affairs, Max Huiberts, said: “Besides being a good player, he’s also a pleasant person. He’s an eager learner and intelligent guy, as I’ve noticed since I spoke with him.”
