Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Axel Witsel has torn his achilles and will be out for a “few months”.
Witsel limped off during Dortmund’s win over RB Leipzig on Saturday evening with initial prognosis not looking good.
And now it’s been revealed by the German side that their Belgium international will be missing for the foreseeable future after visiting a specialist on Sunday.
The midfielder is likely to be out for a large chuck of the rest of the season and could be out for the summer’s upcoming European Championships.
