Axel Witsel: Marco Reus is as good as Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard | OneFootball

Axel Witsel revealed that he believed Dortmund team-mate Marco Reus is on par with Belgium stars Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

In a recent interview, Witsel exclaimed that he feels the 30-year-old, who bagged 21 goals and 13 assists last season, deserves to be talked about with the best in the world.

“Yes, he (Reus) is qualitatively on the same level. For me, he is a top player,” the midfielder said.

Reus was named Bundesliga Player of the Year for the third time in his career and named to the league’s Team of the Year for the sixth time – something Witsel believes Reus completely warrants.

“Of course he deserves it. He’s a fantastic player, his shooting technique is crazy.

“He’s a very important player for us, the club, the fans.”

Dortmund will be back in action on Tuesday when they face St. Gallen at the AFG Arena in Austria.
