Taiwo Awoniyiâs 3rd-minute goal against Sheffield United didnât just Nottingham Forest 1-0 up but saw him equal a record that has stood for 28 years.
It was the sixth consecutive game that the striker has scored in for Forest, a feat last achieved by Stan Collymore in March-April 1995.
The Nigerian internationalâs goals proved pivotal in the clubâs survival last season and will be needed again this year.
He could now go on to break the record next week.
