Eintracht Frankfurt win World Football Summit (WFS) Award for best digital transformation in worldwide football.

Eintracht Frankfurt and the club’s digital subsidiary EintrachtTech received the award for “Best Digital Transformation Initiative” as part of the World Football Summit in Seville on 28 September, in recognition of the club’s unique and sustainable digital strategy in international football.

The category was open to clubs, associations and leagues as well as sports rights holders that have recently gone through a digital transformation and have thus created tangible added value in terms of technological advancement and user-oriented data management. Among a large number of high-profile applications from world football – the other finalists were Spain's LaLiga and the international multimedia communications group Mediapro – Eintracht Frankfurt came out on top.

The WFS Award underlines Eintracht Frankfurt’s position as a digital pioneer in German and world football, and the innovation-oriented path that Eintracht have undertaken with the club’s subsidiary EintrachtTech in recent years. The award was given in view of the development of new digital business models and the in-house development of all essential digital systems by the digital subsidiary, the establishment of the “Arena of IoT” digital centre at Deutsche Bank Park, the realisation of the club’s own esports academy as well as various technology and start-up collaborations.

As well as the WFS Award, Eintracht and EintrachtTech have already received the “German Innovation Award” this year as well as a place in the “Top 100 most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany”.
