Arsenal are keen on 18-year-old Turkish striker Ali Akman, who could be available in a cut-price deal in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal join Chelsea in showing an interest in teenage striker Ali Akman, currently playing his football in Turkey. RB Salzburg and Galatasaray both already tried to strike a deal for him in December.

Akman’s deal expires in the summer and he doesn’t intend to sign a new one. Bursaspor wanted £3m for a move, but they could be forced to accept less in the circumstances.

The striker has nine goals and four assists in 17 appearances this season. He plays in the Turkish second tier, so that’s still an impressive record for his age.

The youngster is also a Turkey u21 international following a November call-up. Unlike with his club, where he plays a central role, he played on the wing in his two u21 appearances with his country.

Arsenal have plenty of young strikers at the club right now, but perhaps might be on the lookout for another at u23 level with Folarin Balogun’s ongoing situation. Whether he stays or goes, he’s unlikely to be playing academy football next season.
