AJ Auxerre have turned down a bid worth approximately €11m from Premier League side Bournemouth for highly-rated attacking midfielder Kévin Danois (20), according to reports from Foot Mercato. Danois has enjoyed a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign in Burgundy, becoming a key figure in Christophe Pélissier’s side despite enduring injury setbacks throughout the season. The 20-year-old has featured in 22 games so far this season for Auxerre. His technical ability, versatility in the final third, and mature decision-making have attracted significant attention from overseas, with Bournemouth the first to make a concrete approach. The Premier League club—who recently sold Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid—are understood to be admirers of Danois’ profile and moved early in an attempt to prise him from the side that finished 11th in their first campaign back after being promoted to Ligue 1 as Ligue 2 champions is the 2023-2024 season. Bournemouth have also been in the market for a full-back and have already expressed a concrete interest in Marseille defender Quentin Merlin this summer, according to a report from La Provence.GFFN | George Boxall
