We witnessed a few great individual performances in last night’s win over BSC Young Boys.

Callum McGregor led by example

Our midfield three in particular were outstanding notably Callum McGregor who led by example and stuck two fingers up to the critics who are of the opinion that he can’t cut it at this level.

Kyogo despite seeing three goals ruled out put in a great shift as he gave his usual one hundred percent whilst running the Young Boys defence ragged.

Kasper Schmeichel who just signed a one-year contract extension was his usual commanding self between the sticks, and despite having little to do pulled off a terrific double save which proved just as significant as the goal itself come the final whistle.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was a rock

In front of the Dane, Cameron Carter-Vickers was a rock as always while his central defensive partner Auston Trusty was as equally as solid and was a tower of strength throughout. That was the polar opposite of the American’s performance at Dens Park last week in a game where he was very poor and almost in the manager’s words ‘as weak as fish’.

Trusty was rightly criticised for that showing, but last night he proved his worth at the highest level of European football, and for that he deserves great credit and recognition for yet another a superb showing in the UEFA Champions League.
