Austin FC midfielder Jhojan Valencia has undergone successful surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee, the club announced on Saturday.

Signed from Colombian side Deportivo Cali in January of this year on a deal through 2024, Valencia has played 10 times for the Verde and Black across all competitions this season, starting two of those matches and providing one assist.

Valencia has found himself behind the likes of Alex Ring, Daniel Pereira, and Sebastian Driussi in the Austin FC midfield pecking order more often than not. But he's still played his part in helping the Verde and Black make an excellent start to their sophomore MLS season, with Josh Wolff's side sitting fourth in the Western Conference on 24 points from 14 games.

FC Dallas at Q2 Stadium next weekend.
