Austin FC defeated Minnesota United 1-0 on Sunday at Q2 Stadium as a lone goal by Maximiliano Urruti earned his side the three points. The Texas team finally won their first game since March 5, recording one defeat and two consecutive draws before recuperating.

The game kicked off with a defensive tone by both sides, forcing a lackluster first 45 minutes with neither side managing a shot on goal. But it was Austin FC who returned to the pitch with a rejuvenated energy, pushing numbers forward before finding the back of the net.

Diego Fagundez launched the game-winning play, running up the left to find Urruti and Hector Jimenez on the right. The defender took possession, and quickly crossed the ball into the box as Urruti recuperated from a foul to manage the right footed shot into the bottom left corner.

Minnesota United attempted to retaliate after the goal, but failed to create anything definitive.

The victory sends Austin FC to fourth place on the Western Conference table, leaving Minnesota in 10th with eight points in six games.

Michael Boxall (CB) - 7.5/10 - Completely left Urriti unmarked and watched as the ball went into the goal, but redeemed himself with a defensive header from inside the goal to save Minnesota from the 2-0.
