FC Augsburg continue to reward up-and-coming talents with new deals this summer. German fullback/winger Henri Koudossou is the latest prospect at the Bundesliga outfit to receive a new contract. The Fuggerstädter have already tied down rising German attacker Mert Kömür and promising German-American central defender Noahkhai Banks with contract extensions.

Koudossou made his Bundesliga debut for the Bavarian Swabians last autumn. After loan stints with Austria Lustenau (2022/23 season) and ADO Den Haag (2023/24 season), Augsburg felt he was ready to contribute to the first team during the 2024/25 German top flight campaign.

Koudossou made five competitive starts under previous head coach Jess Thorup amid his 23 appearances across all competitions. He registered an assist in the Round-of-16 Pokal loss to Karlsruher SC. Koudossou worked as a wingback on both the right and the left.

Though, at the age of 25, Koudossou is significantly older than the likes of Kömur (19) and Banks (18), his development over the past year counts as noteworthy. It may well be the case that new FCA head coach Sandro Wagner has plans for him.

Henri has earned his place in the squad over the past year with his good performances,” current Augsburg managing director Michael Ströll noted in a club statement. “He has shown that he can also contribute his qualities at Bundesliga level. We want to build on that and Henri should continue to develop step-by-step.
