Werder Bremen had a chance to draw level with Augsberg deep into stoppage time but Polish keeper Rafał Gikiewicz denied Marvin Ducksch penalty to seal the three points.
Gikiewicz’s jubilant celebrations followed, much to the dislike of the home fans behind the goal which the 34-year-old decided to provoke with a few hand gestures.
Fans could be seen jumping down from the stands and running up to the advertising boards, almost entering the field of play.

Players from both sides had to calm the crowd down as the referee brandished a yellow card for Gikiewicz.
Not that he’ll mind though with the three points in the bag.
