Arsenal’s lack of creativity and goal threat from midfield is well documented and it could be about to get worse with both Martin Odegaard facing assessment before the game against the Blades.
In truth, Arsenal’s initial update was a little misleading. The club aren’t expecting Odegaard back until after the second leg against Slavia Prague, so it would seem like a miracle to have him available this weekend.
As for Smith Rowe, he sprained his ankle and you have to think that, assessment or not, the club will want to keep him fit for the second league against Slavia Prague so he can help us go out on away goals. He was ruled out around 12 hours after the club said he would undergo an assessment.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also ruled out with ‘flu’
Calum Chambers is back from a knock nobody knew he had. It wasn’t mentioned in the team news update before the Europa League game midweek, indicating the problem was picked up in training between the update on Wednesday and the game on Thursday.
