There were frightening scenes at the end of the Madrid Derby between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid when defender Robin Le Normand went down with a head injury.
Despite being diagnosed as a traumatic head injury, Le Normand is thankfully fine, but now faces a lengthy wait before being permitted to return to action.
As per Marca, the 27-year-old could face over a month on the sidelines before the is able to return to the pitch for Atlético Madrid.
The defender has returned to light training on his own, with mostly gym work, as he has to be careful while waiting for his subdural haematoma (where blood collects between the skull and the brain) to subside.
At the very least, Le Normand is expected to miss Leganés, Las Palmas and Real Betis in the league, as well as Lille and PSG in the Champions League.
The most important thing now is that the Euro 2024 star takes as long as he needs to fully recover, so as to not risk any further complications with his head injury.
