Atlético Madrid turn to Saudi Arabia in search for new midfielder | OneFootball

A new name has been added to the list of midfield targets on the part of the powers that be at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, amongst others, who point towards Gabri Veiga as the player in question.

It is of course now common knowledge that the brass at the Wanda Metropolitano are seeking out one more signing, ahead of the close of what has been a hugely productive summer market for Atlético.

Diego Simeone is understood to want one more midfield option added to his squad, following the recent arrival of Conor Gallagher.

A whole host of names have been tipped as potential additions to the Rojiblancos ranks, with the likes of Matheus Nunes and Luis Milla currently under consideration.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, a new profile has been added to the Atléti shortlist.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘From Saudi Arabia, there is Gabri Veiga. The 22-year-old Spaniard, who plays for Al-Ahli, would be an option if his club agreed to loan him to the Colchoneros.’

It now remains to be seen whether or not Al-Ahli are open to such an operation.
